Why should you make Nuwara Eliya a part of your vacation itinerary? If you're thinking of taking a holiday to Sri Lanka, this is the place to go. Spend at least two or three days in Nuwara Eliya on a little excursion, and you'll see why the area is known as Little England. Surrounded by foggy hills, harsh winters, and architectural structures, it will give you the best sensation. And the things you have to accomplish in that environment will never disappoint you.

1. Spend the morning at Lake Gregory and Gregory Park.

In Sri Lanka, Lake Gregory, also known as Gregory Lake or Gregory Reservoir, is a reservoir in Nuwara Eliya, Sri Lanka, in the heart of the tea country hill city. The Gregory Lake Area is made up of the lake and its surroundings. Lake Gregory was built during the reign of British Governor Sir William Gregory in 1873, with an area of 91 hectares and a surface height of 1,874 meters. Unlike Lake Windermere, which is private, visitors to Lake Gregory can swim, boat, and fish. Along with the gorgeous walk around the lake, there is now a state-of-the-art fitness track with all-new workout stations. Running or walking around the lake is a great way to get some exercise in the colder mountain air. 2. Visit Victoria Park in Nuwara Eliya:

Park is a public park in Nuwara Eliya that was once the Hakgala Botanical Garden's study field. The park was named in honor of Queen Victoria's Diamond Jubilee in 1897. Few sites in Sri Lanka can match Victoria Park's diverse collection of flowering plants, from rare indigenous flora to more daring flowers that provide an experience over the park's breadth. To get the most out of the experience, go during the months of March to May, and then again in August to September, when the flowers are in full bloom. 3. Hakgala Botanical Garden

Hakgala Botanical Garden is one of Sri Lanka's five botanical gardens. The other four gardens are: Peradeniya Botanical Garden, Henarathgoda Botanical Garden, Mirijjawila Botanical Garden, and Seetawaka Botanical Garden. It is Sri Lanka's second-biggest botanical garden. The Royal Pleasure Garden was established by King Kirti Sri Rajasinha (1747–1780), who subsequently lived here. This garden consists of 60 hectares (150 acres) of trees, grass, and blooming shrubs, as well as a 20-hectare (50-acre) arboretum with over 10,000 trees. 4. Nuwara Eliya Golf Club.

The Nuwara Eliya Golf Club, founded in 1889, is one of Asia's and maybe the world's oldest golf clubs. It is an institution steeped in tradition and history, with an atmosphere unlike any other in the country. Founded by British planters who farmed the area for tea in the Nuwara Eliya district for their relaxation and enjoyment, it still caters to some of the country's colonial customs and traditions. This charming blend of old-world charm and modern accoutrements gives it a distinct air and is the source of its allure. 5. Hike Moon Plains.

Moon Plains, also known as Sandathenna, is a 400-meter-long, 40-meter-deep valley in Ranhawadigama, approximately 6 kilometers from Nuwara Eliya. Since March 2014, Moon Plains, which was originally part of a catchment region, has been a well-known Agricultural and Environmental Tourism Zone. Leopards from Sri Lanka have been observed in this area, so keep your eyes peeled if you want to see the elusive spotted predator! It also offers tourists a spectacular panoramic view of the surrounding landscape and peaks, albeit this is dependent on visibility during the day. The "Mini World's End" is a major draw at Moon Plains. 6. Visit Strawberry Farms

Fresh strawberries, a delectable jam, and delectable strawberry delicacies are available in Nuwara Eliya, and you can also see their growth. In Sri Lanka, open fields and polytunnels are used to raise strawberries. Strawberries produce fruit in three to five months in Sri Lanka. Strawberries are in season from September through October.

The best thing is that this is not a contact for a strawberry farm. You do not need to make a reservation to visit.
