Escape to Thalawakele.

Updated: Jan 4, 2022

In the cool December, I decided to get away from Colombo and see one of my wonderful island's most beautiful countrysides.

So I put my belongings into my rucksack and drove through the congested streets of Colombo to the foggy slopes of the mountainous countryside.

And I eventually arrived at Thalawakele, the most picturesque part of the country.

Now I need to locate a somewhere to stay, so I pulled over to the side of the road and used my phone to look for a spot with some nice views and reasonable prices. I received a lot of results, but one in particular caught my attention. It's similar to a "Haven."

That's how "The Waterfall Villas" became my temporary residence for the next day. It was like a waterfall with a lot of Villas, and it was located in the Pundaluoya neighborhood of Nuwara Eliya, as the name suggests. Their personnel was also quite pleasant.

Despite the fact that it was raining that evening, they delivered my food to my villa without hesitation. Their cuisine was also wonderful.

The next day, I was allowed to stroll about the hotel and see the gorgeous St.Clairs waterfall, which is located near the hotel. Even though I couldn't go that close, I was able to take in the amazing sight.

Mlesna Tea in Castle St Clair was my next stop. It was a fantastic tea museum complete with a tea factory. I might even be able to enjoy a cup of tea from their own restaurant.

Unknowingly, my day had come to an end, and I had to bid farewell to my journey to Thalawakele, which had left me with many lovely and peaceful memories
